Dynojet Performance Center

Chester’s Harley-Davidson is proud to announce the addition of the Dynojet 250 Series Dynomometer with load controller and 02 sensors.

We are a certified Dynojet/Power Commander Tuning Center. This new Dynojet will allow us to make accurate fuel curve adjustments in less time than before. The two new features on our Dyno are the computer-controlled brake and a real time 02 sensor. What the brake allows us to do is duplicate and hold a real world situation (i.e. 50 mph at ¾ throttle). On the street this condition could only exist for a moment before the bike accelerated to a different speed. Being able to maintain this situation in a stable condition allows us to measure and monitor the bike’s operating condition.

With the real time 02 sensor, we get an accurate reading of the bike’s fuel to air ratio. This takes all the guessing out of tuning the bike’s fuel curve. We know, for a fact, if the bike is rich or lean, in almost any situation. On some bikes, we can also monitor the ignition system. Then by balancing the ignition and fuel requirements, we can tune the bike for optimum performance under the full range of throttle positions and load conditions. Not just maximum horsepower at wide-open throttle.

DISCLAIMER

The power characteristics of your bike, how much horsepower, how much torque it makes, and where in the RPM band it makes these numbers are determined by the choice of components your engine is built with and how well they complement each other.

No amount of tuning can compensate for mismatched components. We have seen bikes with cams, big bore, carbs, porting, and ignition, make less power than stock, due to mismatching of components. No amount of tuning would increase the numbers. Once we changed to a proven combination, we were able to get the numbers that one would expect.

In the quest for more power, bikes are routinely “built” and operated way beyond the limits they were designed to handle. Exhaust pipes discolor, clutches give out, engine components and sometimes entire engines fail. You will be asked to set the limits as to how aggressively you want us to run your bike. We will not, willingly or knowingly, run a bike to its breaking point. However, since we have no way of guaranteeing the integrity of any component, on any bike, even one that we build, we cannot in any way, shape or form, accept responsibility for any failures or damage that may occur in connection with running your bike on our Dyno.
